Why Do You Need A Concealer
After a late night or when faced with an unexpected acne breakout, concealer is one of the first things we reach for in our makeup bag.
And like most cosmetics, concealer has many uses beyond what it says on the label. Here are five different ways to make your life a little easier with a just a few dabs.
1. Make your lipstick last longer.
No lip liner? No problem. With an applicator or your finger, line and fill in your lips with the cover-up, making sure to blend so there aren't any uneven spots. Allow it to dry and then apply your lipstick.
Concealer helps your lip color last longer, adds dimension to the shade and prevents feathering. A dab of this product on your cupid's bow will make your lipstick radiate even more.
2. Give your lashes more volume.
Volumizing mascaras don't always do the trick, but a little concealer can help your eyelashes go the distance. With a small brush, apply a liquid formula to your lashes -- make sure to extend the brush to the tips. Then put on your mascara and marvel at the results!
3. Create the ultimate neutral eyeshadow.
During the morning rush, sometimes you just want something to refresh your eyeswithout eating up your time. Fulfill this makeup dream with cover-up.
4. Stop your eye makeup from running.
Quickly combat streaks of eyeliner and splashes of shadow by blending concealer into the problem areas -- that consistency will rub out the color, while giving you a fresh slate for touch-ups.
5. Enhance your flushed cheeks.
Whether you're looking to mattify your face or you want to amp up your glow, concealer will transform your bright or brooding blushes.
There are two ways to go about using concealer to enhance blush. One: Place small dots of cover-up along your cheeks and blend up with your fingertips, adding a powder blush on top. Two: Mix a little bit of concealer with a cream blush to add more warmth to your face.

8 Possible Reasons Why Your Edges Are Thinning.
Thinning edges are a recurring issue for many black women but it can be hard to pinpoint a culprit. Here are 8 possible reasons why your edges are thinning.
1. You style your hair too much and you don’t let your edges rest enough
Edges are among the most fragile parts of your hair, and the pulling and grabbing naturally involved in styling can put strain on them. If you notice that your edges are beginning to stress, try keeping your hair in a protective style for a few weeks and spritzing your edges daily with an oil & water based moisturizer. If you start to see small, soft hairs poking through, then your edges are making a comeback.
2. Your hair is very fine
Fine haired naturals have a harder time with certain things — and edges are one of them. If your strands are fragile and prone to breakage, then you need a gentle hair styling and maintenance routine. Err on the side of LESS when it comes to manipulating your hair and edges.
3. You cornrow, flat twist and pull your ponytails too tight
Yes, we all want our edges to look ‘sharp’ and ‘sleek’, but we also have to be realistic. If your hair is very kinky or coily, then the likelihood is that your edges will also have a bit of texture and fuzz to them. If you want laid down edges, try applyingshea butter then wrapping your edges with a scarf at night. This should lay them down and smooth them without the use of excessive pulling.
4. Your headband and/or bonnet are doing damage
Any hair accessory of tool with tension or elastic can do possible damage to your edges. If the elastic of your satin bonnet is creating bald spots, try pulling it down further on your head, or even over your ears. Headbands can also do damage if they’re too tight or used excessively. Figure out how much your hair edges can take, and adjust your usage accordingly.
5. You have post partum shedding and hair loss
Post partum shedding can affect edges disproportionately. New mothers have reported nearly losing their hair lines after giving birth.
6. You are not moisturizing them
When applying product to hair, edges and ends are often overlooked. Make sure you treat both sections with TLC.
7. You have hand-in-hair syndrome
Do you fiddle with your hair when you’re nervous? If you’re in the habit of twirling the hair around your edges, you could be creating bald spots.
8. You are using a brush & gel on your edges
Probably the most obvious reason of all. Brushing your edges after applying gel is a very harsh way to get sleek edges. If you have a strong hair, this might not be an issue for you since your edges can withhold the stress. But if your hair is not strong enough, chances are you are annihilating your edges.

How To Moisturise Your Skin
Do you have dry skin most of the time and tried many ways to combat this problem? Read on to find out how to improve the moisture in your skin.
Steps
1
Find a daily body wash that suits your skin type. Assuming your skin is quite dry, try not to buy a cheap body wash, research a recommended product, with good reviews. Good body wash products normally contain essential oils such as: coconut oil, olive oil and jojoba oils that help keep moisture. If you can, visit shops that specialize in natural products, for example the Body Shop and Lush. Avoid soaps with alcohol and some soap bars, because even though they leave the skin 'squeaky clean', this strips the skin of its natural oils which may be the reason why you have dry skin.
2
Dry your skin properly. Some people are often in a rush in the morning and don’t dry properly which means your skin will dry out during the day.
#
3
Choose the right moisturizer. This is the most important stage. As mentioned everyone has a unique skin type. However the more natural the product the better! Less chemicals and less side effects. Many people use shea butter and essential oils based cream. This helps keep your skin healthy and moisturized.
4
Keep hand cream/ body cream in your bag. Make this one of your essential items in your bag. Depending on where you are in the world, some creams may need to have a good SPF to protect the skin. Keeping a cream in your bag also reminds you to moisturize your hands after you have washed your hands. Often people have dry hands because water dries out the skin.
5
To ensure your skin is smooth and healthy, every week or 2 weeks give your skin a treat. Use body scrub or a body mask occasionally to wash off dirt but keep the moisture. Doing this can help keep your skin moisturized, smooth and soft.
6
Become familiar with a daily skin routine. It is important to allow yourself time in the mornings ( or evenings) to pamper your skin. If you're in a rush you may not reach all the dry areas on your body when applying lotion.

EYE BRUSHES
Eye Shader Brush
This brush is used for packing color on the lid. You can also use the tip of the brush to smudge color under the lash line, or to create a defined line in the crease.
Stiff Dome Brush
This brush is great for feathering out color to create a smokey eye, or blending out the crease. The bristles are stiff, making it easy to move the eye shadow where you want it.
Pencil Brush
This pencil-like brush is perfect for precision shading on the lid, in the crease of the eye, or along the lash line. This brush can also be used for smudging liner along the lash line, or darkening the outer-v for a dramatic look.
Soft Dome Brush
This dome shaped brush has very soft bristles that make it ideal for blending out any harsh lines below the brow bone. This brush can also be used for blending out concealer under the eye to help hide dark circles and bags.
Bent Liner Brush
Designed specifically for applying gel eyeliner, this brush has a bent head that lays perfectly on the top of the lashes, and glides with ease. The pointed tip helps create a fool proof line that will have even the beginners pulling off a stunning cat eye.

With this brush, you get double for your money! This dual ended brush has a spoolie on one end allowing you to brush through your brows. The other end has an angled brush which is ideal for effortlessly filling in your brows.
FACE BRUSHES
Angled Contour Brush
There are many of these on the market today in a various array of shapes and sizes. With this particular angled contour brush, you can swipe the brush downward diagonally from your cheekbone, and in one fluid motion achieve a flawless application.
Cheek Highlighter Brush
The cheek highlighter brush is completely optional, but the feathery, soft bristles give a very nice finish to any product used with it. This brush is very easy to use when applying a highlighter to the top of the cheekbones. You can also use the cheek highlighter brush with cream blushes to stipple the blush onto the cheeks.
Foundation Stippling Brush
The foundation stippling brush is perfect for those of you who love a full coverage look to your foundation. The large flat head is specifically made for the foundation to be stippled onto the face. This technique assures there are no streaks in the foundation, resulting in a flawless look to the skin.
Flat Foundation Brush
The flat foundation brush is optional. This brush is best used to apply highlighter to the top of the cheekbones. At times this brush can leave streaks in your foundation, so be careful when using it.
Beauty Blender
Technically, this isn’t really a brush, but it is a great tool and we didn’t want to leave it out. The egg-shaped design makes it ideal for getting under the eye and in other small areas you can easily miss with a brush. This is also used to achieve an overall airbrush finish to your foundation.
So there you have it, my top 10 makeup brushes! As a beginner looking to start your collection, or as a makeup guru looking to expand, these brushes are great for everyone.

The Perfect Jeans For Your Shape
Skinny |
The fashionista’s favourite. Not only does it look sexy and smart but always ensures you feel your most fashionable. The skinny is perfect with both boots and heels; making it one of the most versatile jean shapes.
Skinny facts:
· The skinny jean stays tight to the leg all the way down to the ankle
· A high rise is ultra flattering as it banishes muffin tops
· For a super skinny fit opt for a pair with ankle zips
· Black skinny jeans are a wardrobe staple
Straight |
The ultimate leg lengtheners, straight jeans have a wonderfully androgynous appeal. They look sexy without being too sexy, and they can be worn casually without being too casual. Yes straight jeans are great look, particularly if you’re scared of skinnies and bored of bootcuts.
Straight facts:
· The straight leg runs straight down the length of the leg from hip to ankle.
· Because the straight cut skims the legs it automatically slims thighs and calves
· If you’re planning on wearing heels opt for a slightly longer length
· Straight legs work really well with a low rise
Bootcut |
The original jean; the bootcut has been loved and adored by cowboys and fashionistas alike for decades. Whilst other jean styles may fall in and out of fashion, the bootcut always remains a classic.
Bootcut facts:
· The bootcut fit follows the thigh but flares slightly from the knee.
· A mid rise bootcut is the most flattering jean around
· Dress up your look with pocket detailing
· A bootcut in an indigo wash is a true style icon
Flare |
Flared jeans are back, dominating the spring catwalks flares are the jean and trouser shape of the season. They’re super flattering and surprisingly easy to wear so we tip flares to be the new ‘It’ shape.
Flare facts:
· A flared jean is tight on the thighs and then widens from the knee to the foot
· A kick flare is where the jean flares out from the ankle rather than the knee
· Wear yours with a chiffon blouse and towering wedges for a '70s vibe
· A pale flare is very on trend, but an indigo wash is the most forgiving
Boyfriend |
Still a fairly new jean style, the boyfriend is the marmite of the denim world. You either love these or hate them completely. It’s definitely worth trying a pair as you may surprise yourself, die-hard skinny fans have been known to dabble with the boyfriend shape.
Boyfriend facts:
· It’s a baggy style that fits loosely down the leg
· Seated low on the hips gives the boyfriend a sexy edge
· Rips and grazing also give this jean a sexier look
· You still want the jean to follow the contours of your legs
Shop for your shape
Boyish
If your figure is pretty straight up and down you need your jeans to give the appearance of curves.
The cut
Definitely work the skinny jeans look, your body was made for this, and the tighter the better. Boyfriend styles are also great, you’ll show off your slim figure whilst giving you a bit more shape. Wider legs will need to be tighter and shapely around the bum otherwise the fabric will drown you.
The rise
High waists are great for your shape, they will nip you in giving you a more hourglass silhouette. Equally you can pull of low rises beautifully.
The tip
Opt for styles with detailing on the back pockets to give the illusion of curves.
Pear
If you carry your waist on your hips and bum, buying jeans can feel like a bit of a nightmare. But never fear there’s a cut perfect for you.
The cut
Don’t think that baggy is more slimming, as baggy styles will just exaggerate your curves and are best avoided. Instead a bootcut or straight leg is ideal. Choose your wash carefully; indigo is perfect, and those with whiskering and faded detail will help slim the legs down and elongate them.
The rise
A mid to high rise is ideal for your shape, a high rise will give you a more hourglass shape. Look for jeans which are slightly higher at the back these will give you a better fit and prevent any embarrassing leaning over moments.
The tip
Don’t go for heavily detailed jeans, these will only make you seem curvier.
Hourglass
With your naturally curvy frame you may struggle in finding the perfect jeans. You need a pair which show off your tiny waist and keep that balance between the hips and bust.
The cut
You are lucky that you can pull off almost all styles of jeans. We recommend a skinny to show off your figure, and whilst you can get away with boyfriend jeans you may find your figure looks bulkier in them. A slim straight leg should be your wardrobe staple.
The rise
Definitely a high waist for you, this will really show off a tiny waist. Make sure you get a pair with elastane in so you can get the perfect fit over the waist and hips.
The tip
Dark washes will slim you down and show off a fabulous figure.
Petite
Finding the right length can be really tricky, you will probably find that you need to take up most styles or opt for very large heels. Don’t forget rolled up jeans look great with heels or flats.
The cut
A petite shape can carry off most styles. Skinny jeans are perfect for you and will lengthen your legs, equally bootcut and straight look great. Be wary of wide leg jeans as this style may swamp your figure.
The rise
A higher rise will lengthen the legs, but a lower rise with lengthen the body; look at your figure and choose accordingly.
The tip
Straight leg jeans are the easiest style to take up without loosing the look of the jeans.
